.SITE RENOVATION.
To all our members,
I (Kensei), have decided to renovate the site, which has remained dead since our head Administrator, Baraku, went absent. There will be a new set of rules, a new skin, new profile formats...
Basically, we're starting the site over.
But don't be alarmed. For those of you who choose to return, you will not have to rewrite your application, or change it to the present system. Your applications are still there, resting in the Filing Cabinet -- feel free and ask the Staff to repost it if it has already been approved, or ask them to read over the application and approve it, then move it to the Approved sub-boards.
If you do not wish to roleplay on the site any longer, or the renovation does not appeal to you, all you have to do is tell the Staff in a PM ; your account will be removed without any questions.
We apologize for any inconveniences, and thank you all for your patience and cooperation.
Your loving (new) head Admin,
Kensei

2012 Volleyball Stadium Announced

2012 Volleyball Stadium Announced
Atkins and Populous have penned the new temporary beach volleyball stadium that will sit in Whitehall in London for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Located on Horse Guards Parade the 15,000 seat stadium has been designed to work as two segments. The first of those is an octagonal stand that surrounds the court intimately, with a larger C shaped stand providing a second tier of seats. Arranged at each of the four corners of the stadium will be floodlights whilst two practise courts are sited adjacent to the stadium between it and Whitehall with a further six planned for St James's Park.
Contrary to some erroneous press reports, the height of the bowl will not be 62 metres. Standing overlooking no less than three different conservation areas it has actually been planned to relate to the surrounding roof lines rather than dominate its surroundings.
Perhaps one surprising thing about the stadium is it will have no roof - even the 2000 Olympics stadium on Bondi Beach had a roof for the corporate and media area. With weather in London undependable at best, and Wimbleon having even been forced into a third week, this may prove shortsighted and leave the competition at the mercy of the rain gods, not least because 108 matches are planned.
Construction will take only six weeks, and begin immediately after the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth the Second on the 5th of June, another event that will utilise Horse Guards, albeit for a more formal use. It goes without saying that the scheme will be complete in time for the 2012 Olympics.
