Kage Kaisen Revival!

January 19th 2010, 6:45 pm by Kensei

.SITE RENOVATION.

To all our members,

I (Kensei), have decided to renovate the site, which has remained dead since our head Administrator, Baraku, went absent. There will be a new set of rules, a new skin, new profile formats...

Basically, we're starting the site over.

But don't be alarmed. For those of you who choose to return, you will not have to rewrite your application, or change it to the present system. Your applications are still there, resting in the Filing Cabinet -- feel free and ask the Staff to repost it if it has already been approved, or ask them to read over the application and approve it, then move it to the Approved sub-boards.

If you do not wish to roleplay on the site any longer, or the renovation does not appeal to you, all you have to do is tell the Staff in a PM ; your account will be removed without any questions.

We apologize for any inconveniences, and thank you all for your patience and cooperation.

Your loving (new) head Admin,
Kensei

Firefighter Salary - All you need t Empty Firefighter Salary - All you need t

Firefighter Salary is an argument that can go on for decades! Is the level of pay the main factor in your decision to join the Fire Department or should a passion for the job come first?????
To totally adopt one of these is a lose/lose situation. Both are significant factors for any person entering a new career. It is not that one outdoes the other; it is that you ensure you have a balance of both. To have a passion for a career is something that cannot be changed, it is in you no matter what and it drives you to succeed.
However, passion does not pay the bills and put food on the table. You have to take into consideration if the firefighter salary can cover your lifestyle (e.g. mortgage, family, loans, etc.). If there is added pressure due to lack of income then this can diminish the passion that was once so strong.
So what can you do to prevent this? First of all research the average pay for a firefighter. It is stated that in the US the approximate average pay for a regular firefighter is around $41,349, in Europe it is on average approximately €21,000 and in Australia $31,800.
It is sufficient to say that these are not ground breaking figures. There is however a salary structure in all countries that increases with length of service, promotion, bonuses ,allowances, overtime and benefits. These can greatly improve your monthly income so look into what your local department offers and build these factors into it.
So many men and women jump into a career purely on a whim. Some believe that a passion or true interest in a job will be enough to sustain them. Although it is a nice idea it is not realistic. Being armed with the knowledge of what to expect will outline if this can work for you. Firefighting Jobs are for the long term so be sure that this is the road for you.
On the opposite side of the spectrum people who enter careers purely for the salary levels and have no interest in what they are doing, are selling themselves short. Life is not all about the money we earn, at the end of the day we can't take it with us! It is so important to ensure you actually like what you are doing and it keeps you interested. Otherwise you are in for a life of boredom!
Then there is the second element to this equation; Do you have a genuine passion to become a firefighter?
It is a career that requires a certain type of person. It is by no means easy but it is one of the most rewarding and satisfying jobs in the world. In fact it was voted highest in Job Satisfaction in the US for a few years running!
You have to be prepared to take the rough with the smooth, be confident in your character and your capabilities. It is without question that a career in emergency services is not for everyone, that is why if you have a hunger for the job from the outset, then you are on the right path to becoming a firefighter!
Being armed with all the right information; the firefighter salary stats, the type of work involved, the history of firefighting, etc will have you at an advantage over anyone else who is applying to become a firefighter.
Men and Women who are happy in their work are happy in their life. It affects all aspects of a person's life as the majority of people spend most of their time during the week in their place of employment. So the easiest way to sustain a happy work life is to do something that you are passionate about. It makes the early mornings easier to deal with :-)
